We talk about a simple sequence or strategy to get more leads and therefore more sales for your business.

Share the LOVE and TWEET about this episode.

Target Audience: Casey creates software and training programs designed to help businesses grow through the power of automation and engagements using video, webinars and live video to leverage the brand and the business that they want.

Building Leads to the Automated Webinar

The power of a webinar, as some of us know, is to build that “Know-Like and Trust” factor with your audience. The nature of a webinar is about hitting on pain points they are facing and offering possible solutions to solve the pain or problem.

Webinars also leverage the power of scalability. A webinar allows you to serve more people while also saving you lots of time.

Webinars can be powerful because a webinar asks for a level of commitment. A webinar is also revealing in the sense that it helps business owners to separate those people who are serious from those who are not. Webinars also serve as a portal for the different and various ways they can go further with you.

Live Video: Periscope & Facebook Live

Periscope is tied in with twitter. You can Livestream from your phone. Followers will tune into the broadcast. Facebook live works the same way. If you can create resonating content, you can move them into your marketing platform.

The webinar only scratches the surface and give a simple to remember url. They sign up to get the free thing. Webinars share a slice of what you are offering. This is not slimy! You are are serving them what they want. And giving them more gradually based on their commitment.

In this episode we’ll cover:

  • Using webinars to build Trust
  • The power of live video
  • Why webinars create leads
  • How webinars save you time
  • How webinars reveal the value you have to offer

Practical and Actionable:

Remember that the purpose of your webinar is to only scratch the surface of what’s really behind the veil. Be sure to provide something of quality and value. Serve them to the best of your ability while also holding a balance: their commitment.

253 | A new dynamic in Leadership with Mitch Axelrod

Leadership is different and has not changed either.  Now is the time to examine your leadership strategies to improve your goal setting. Discover the new approaches that our guest gives us. Mitch Axelrod shares how he looks at goal setting and why the process must change.

Share the LOVE and TWEET about this episode.

Target Audience: Mitch Axelrod serves businesses and organizations big and small. His mission is about helping people actualizing their own inner power. It is then about monetizing that through profitability.

The model of Leadership has traditionally been top down and one dimensional. Usually it is focused on the mission of the company. We are 3 dimensional human beings. Mitch believes in Axiology- the measure of human value. There are 3 dimensions to this.

The 3 Dimensions of Axiology: GOALS ROLES AND SOUL

Goal: This is the first dimension. The goal is a concept and it is clear cut. It is all about where you are going

Role: What you are doing

Soul: Is about who you are being

So much of what we do today only encompasses the goal dimension. The purpose of the role is to get the goal. The company adjusts the role. Then you address the soul of the human being. The soul is constantly needing to be expressed. Role is of higher value than the goal and the soul dimension is of higher value than the role.

For so many people, their soul dimensions are starving. What’s evolving now in business based on values is that companies are realizing people would leave for better opportunities in order to feel more fulfilled in their work. Don’t shrink a person to fit the job. Rather, expand the job to fit the person

3 Dimensions. 3 Questions: What Every Company Should Ask to Catalyze Transformation

Goal dimension: Are you where you think you ought to be right now in your life?

Role dimension: Are you valuing what you do and getting value out of what you do? Are you doing something you actually value?

Soul dimension: are you feeling expressed? Are you actually feeling like you are being yourself and that you are living your life in congruence to who you are?

The Power in Providing Autonomy within Your Company

It’s saying to the person: We trust you enough to expand the job description to fit the value of the YOU.

Your profession is not what you do to bring home a paycheck. Your profession is what you were put on earth to do with such passion and intensity that it becomes a spiritual experience and fulfills your calling. This is very different than a job.

In this episode we’ll cover:

  • Goal, Role and Soul Dimensions
  • Why people are dissatisfied with their work
  • How to dig deep in uncovering your soul’s purpose
  • The reality about fulfilling your Calling
  • The power of Autonomy

Practical and Actionable:

Do your soul setting, then your role setting, then your goal setting. How do I get back to my soul? Quiet yourself and get back inside. Use your intuition. That voice only you can hear.

252 | Celebrate 3 Years - What Happens When Your Facebook Ads Aren't Working with Molly Pittman

How to get your Facebook Ads to work – today we talk with Molly Pittman. I want to say “THE” Molly Pittman because I am such a fan of her work. Molly is the VP of Marketing for Digital Marketer. She is also a co-host at the Perpetual Traffic podcast. She shares her 4 tips to fix your Facebook ads.

Share the LOVE and TWEET about this episode.

Target Audience: Marketing for Digital Marketer serves anyone wanting to learn digital marketing. This includes marketing agencies and professionals both big and small. Basically, it serves those seeking online strategies.

What to do when Facebook ads are JUST not working. Here, we walk you through 4 important aspects…

ASPECT 1:

Looking at your OFFER- this is not necessarily your product. What is meant by offer is the way it is being presented to your audience. And if the Facebook ads are not working, chances are that other mediums also would not work. It’s most likely not working because of the way you are positioning whatever it is you are trying to sell. Remember, you are dealing with real humans who happen to be on the other side.

Giving them something of VALUE FIRST is a great way to reach them. Your hook or marketing message has got to be aligned with this. THINK: Why should they care?

VALUE: troubleshooting comes down to looking at all the steps. It is about testing multiple hooks against different avatars. Different people are going to want something for a different reason. Who are the different people you can speak to and the different reasons they’d want it?

A HOOK is combining the pain point and offering the solution. What is this person going to have when they take my offer that they didn’t have before? How are they going to feel afterwards? How will their average day improve? How will their status increase?

Getting Clear About Who You Serve

You have to be specific down to the offer. Who are the avatars that will be interested in your AD?

Do I have something that people actually want?

At Marketing for Digital Marketer, they write a blog post that teases the topic they are thinking of using for the lead magnet. If it is not resonating with people, it is tossed. Once the Offer + Marketing message is clear, you can move into the Targeting piece.

ASPECT 2: TARGETING

Specific to the avatar you want to reach- what are these people actually consuming?

ASPECT 3: Ad Copy and Creative

Make sure the copy portrays the marketing message you want to convey. The image is what most people are looking at.

ASPECT 4: Familiarity between the Ad and Landing Page

If the landing page does not relate, their brain will tell them they are in the “wrong place.” You don’t want that happening.

In this episode we’ll cover:

  • The 4 Aspects to Optimization
  • Why knowing your Avatar is everything
  • Aligning your ads with your lead page
  • Making sure your offer resonates with your audience
  • Why you should give Value as a first step

Practical and Actionable:

It doesn’t matter what medium you are on. Each has their tip or trick. It is really about THAT message an AD point. It is about hitting that pain point and truly adding value to someone’s life.

251 | How to Use Video To Drive High-Value Clients with Steve Gumm

Video will continue to be more important to share your story and reach new customers. You don’t have to create Super Bowl style commercials, but you will miss opportunities if you don’t learn to use video for your business. Our guest today is Steve Gumm who works with companies to improve the human-to-human experience. He loves to use video to share stories and value bombs. Steve is the founder of Drop In Local in Chicago, IL.

Share the LOVE and TWEET about this episode.

Target Audience: Steve founded an Agency called Drop In Local that focuses on creating and using video to help people get more customers and make more money.

People Are Afraid of Video

Steve admits that he doesn’t think anyone really likes looking at themselves on video. It’s a vulnerable thing. To get over that is pretty easy though. You just start! It could be with “How To” videos. Choose things you can speak about very freely. Also, it helps to get used to having a camera in the room and around you. So, play around.

Creating a Bond with Your Audience

Video creates a bond with who you are trying to reach. You must have a story: the burdens as well as the dreams. It draws people in. You will be blown away by the response because consumers are not used to it. Video puts a real human being behind the business. And guess what? It does not have to be flashy!

Ask yourself where you can apply a deeper human touch and start to integrate it? Don’t let the technical stuff scare you away.

Even using something as simple as a phone and a tripod is fine. Just focus on building trust with content. The process then becomes fun. I.E: the process of how to nurture and convert. You look at the process and start to plug in a process. Though it takes more courage and strategy to create content on the video platform, this extra effort pays off.

How do you (Steve) help someone show up the way the need to on camera?

Hiring someone makes a big difference. Making it natural. Then, set up a camera with the intention of a message first.

In this episode we’ll cover:

  • How to start creating videos
  • What content to draw up to put in your videos
  • Why Video is powerful as a platform
  • Why you shouldn’t let the technical stuff scare you off
  • Creating an authentic bond with your audience

Practical and Actionable:

Spontaneous Questions from Gene to Steve:

What length should the video be if you are trying to build brand awareness?

The right length. As long as it is valuable, you don’t have to put time on it. A minute and a half could be a goal.

What’s so important about those first 8 seconds? How do you make it count?

It is EVERYTHING because that is about the attention span of a human being. If you don’t draw them in within that time, you lose them. Get your name out and quickly get to the point.

What should be the Call to Action in the Video?

Have a Teaser at the beginning

Microphones?

Loval ears or Booms

The right time to start?

YESTERDAY

250 | Innovation Is a Competitve Advantage with Tamara Kleinberg

Innovation means different things to different people. I agree with our guest today, Tamara Kleinberg (founder of Go To Launch Street) about innovation. Innovation is a process of thinking differently and acting on it. Ideas that are cool and interesting, really don’t mean that much. It is the implementation of the ideas that drives innovation. Our guest today, is a speaker and brand strategist that helps companies innovate in today’s fast changing world.

Share the LOVE and TWEET about this episode.

Target Audience: Tamara shows entrepreneurs how to be innovative by unlocking that part of themselves.

When you are doing it like everybody else, you add to the noise and when you add to the noise, people walk away. It’s not until you do something innovative and different that your target audience starts to open up their wallets for you.

The Process of Thinking Differently

This is not just a process you undergo when you want to innovate. You must also think differently about your challenges. Pretend the brick wall does not exist, take action and put that into the marketplace. Uncover how to create that unique selling space. It should be something bold that people will open up their wallets for.

Being Innovative is About Being Unique

Take note: Innovation is a competitive advantage. We can’t be afraid to do the opposite of what everyone else is doing. Something Tamara does is list everything she sees in her industry. The language, customer service, product, etc. From that, she determines what they are NOT doing. She knows this is how she will stand out. It’s scary – because some of those things they are doing ARE working for them. However, just because it works for them does not mean it is going to work for you.

As leaders, we focus on the outcome. It is important to have a team where everyone has tapped into their inner innovator. This means rewarding behaviors. No matter what. Reward enhances innovation. Don’t just reward what works out. Reward everything.

Innovation is Such a Powerful Piece of the Puzzle

Innovation is more valuable than resources. If we are not building an innovative business from the ground up, we’re missing a significant foundational piece.

In this episode we’ll cover:

  • The process of thinking differently
  • Why innovation is a competitive advantage
  • How to be Unique in your industry
  • The foundation you must set for your business
  • Why you should not be doing what everyone else is doing

Practical and Actionable:

Get out of your own shoes and your head. Think about the products that you geek out on. Think about how they would put out a product, how they would connect with their customers. It is incredibly easy to be innovative when you do this. How would they create more community in their business? Apply that back into your world. Allow yourself to be free when you’re doing this process.

249 | How to Break Through The Noise - The One Strategy You Need with Ryan Deiss

If you are in marketing, you likely know of Ryan Deiss. Ryan is the founder and CEO of DigitalMarketer. Over the last 36 months Ryan and his team have invested over $15,000,000 on marketing tests, generated tens of millions of unique visitors, sent well over a BILLION emails, and run approximately 3,000 split and multi-variant tests.  Today we talk about how to get traction for your business. In the practical and actionable portion of the interview, Ryan shares the #1 place to start that you can do this week to drive your business forward.

Share the LOVE and TWEET about this episode.

Target Audience: Digital Marketer serves marketing professionals and marketing agencies. Specifically, the new emergent group of digitally focused marketing agencies.

Being a Thought Leader

It’s been a long journey and Ryan doesn’t believe he has ever actually “arrived” at being a “thought leader.” He is grateful to the people in his life who keep him humble and challenge him to continue evolving.

One pivotal moment that caused him to realize he has the ability to influence was when he created an event and over 200 people registered. This was a shock! That’s where Digital Marketer started to expand.

In the third consecutive year of putting on this event, they had about 1,000 people attend. He realized at that point that they must have been saying something that was resonating with people. He knew then they must be providing VALUE.

Ryan says, you’ve got to give yourself a shot to amplify your message. Don’t just assume people are just going to notice.

Ryan joined mastermind groups he couldn’t necessarily afford. He attended events he couldn’t necessarily afford. But he made it a priority to be in these spaces where he could grow. He put his best efforts in always executing good work. He feels it is what separates them from other digital marketing companies. It’s about having the goods and the amplification. You need both!

When you are trying to build a reputation, it is important to go out there and give VALUE first. People are against giving stuff away for free, but in the beginning this could be a real benefit. There is something to be said about being real. About putting in the work and getting some results for other people. Then you actually HAVE something to TALK about.

Key Principles to Breaking Through the Noise

ADVERTISE: put out one piece of amazing content and advertise around that. It could be a blog post, video, podcast episode, infographic. The medium doesn’t matter- it just needs to be something people can gain access to without having to jump through a hoop. This is what builds your audience and credibility: finding out what THEY like.

How to Advertise

Google “$10 a day traffic plan.” Do it for a week or 2. You can get a solid test effort. It’s money well invested. Facebook is a great place to execute ads.

In this episode we’ll cover:

  • How to break through the noise
  • Building your credibility
  • Giving value first
  • Creating your traffic plan
  • Modeling after other Marketers

Practical and Actionable:

When modeling other marketers, make sure you see the whole picture. Find out what they did in the BEGINNING rather than merely looking at what it currently looks like. Modeling is great but you want to make sure you are not “cheating off the stupid kid.”

248 | Creating Connection and Significance Through Speaking with Les Brown

Motivational Speaker, Les Brown shares with us how the road to growth and transformation requires the COURAGE to change. If you want to evoke the spirit of transformation in those whom you serve, you must also commit to catalyzing that very thing in your own life. The intention and desire to grow must be practiced, exercised and executed consistently.

Target Audience: Les motivates Entrepreneurs who wish to use Speaking as a platform for inspiration and expanding consciousness.

Passion, Fear & the Courage to Change

Creating change is not easy. We ask Les: “What are the basics when you want to change something in your life?”

Les says it requires the willingness to assess the situation and asking yourself the question: “what direction do I go in now? Is this worth the cost for me? What Sacrifice am I willing to make? If not, then what you want in your life will be sacrificed. Courage is not an act you take in absence of fear, but an action you take in spite of the fear.

The easiest thing Les admits he does now is earning the kind of living that he desires. Now, the most difficult thing he had to do was BELIEVE he COULD do it. He says, the basics are working on yourself and developing that mindset that it is possible. It is about increasing value and being unstoppable in what is being created.

Who do I need to be?

The KEY question. Les explains that you have to, to stay ahead of the game. As entrepreneurs, we must prepare ourselves for the future and the circumstance that come about. Ask yourself, “Who do I have to be to accommodate the changes that will take place.” By working on mindset and skill set, we can win in the marketplace every day!

Ask yourself what you have going for you what is working against you? What do you need to do? Les says he disciplines himself to read 3 books per month. What do you need to do to sharpen yourself? And remember, if you’re the smartest in your group, you need a new group.

Les believes that being in business is not just about making money- but leaving a legacy. Stretching yourself is about discovering how little you know. Reflect on who you are and who you need to be. What’s the story you believe about yourself?

As we live, we earn, learn and pass it on. There is no success without successors.  Power them to become a pencil in the hand of God (Mother Teresa quote)- helping people to change the planet.

What’s aching to get out?

Did you know that 87% of our self-talk is negative and undetected from our conscious minds? People must begin to ask themselves what the calling of their lives are. As much as they have chosen IT, it has also chosen THEM. Speaking is about changing consciousness!

In this episode we’ll cover:

  • Exploring who you need to be tomorrow
  • Increasing your belief in your own VALUE
  • How to focus on what you really want
  • Using courage to develop mindset and skillset
  • Committing yourself to sharpening the self

Practical and Actionable:

There’s too much information around us yet not enough insight. Les says, there’s riches in niches. When you focus on that, (the noise will always be there) you become disciplined. You have a place to stand. Don’t be a jack of all trades. Focus on the direction. Commit to that path- the one that represents your values. Noise comes on when you take your focus off your goals.

247 | How to Build Your Team and Define Your Culture with Mike Ganino

Our guest Mike Ganino joins us today to discuss his training and culture tips that help to build a team and ensure the future success of businesses. We talk about what culture actually is and why great leaders possess listening skills. Tune in to find out how to define your vision while creating a rich culture for your team that motivates them to come into work every day.

Share the LOVE and TWEET about this episode.

Target Audience: Mike works with creative agencies and teams in the hospitality space. He helps them figure out how to define and execute the culture in a way that will get them results they want.

So, What is CULTURE?

It’s about the conditions. What’s going on in the office every day? How many people are there? What’s the temperature? When people look to their left or right- how do they feel about it? How do people make decisions? When they wake up in the morning- what do they feel their day will be like? When they walk through the door- what does that feel like to them? Culture is about getting the conditions right to get the results you want.

Great Leaders and Teams LISTEN

You start to see what the brand and vision could be when you listen. Here is the Model comprised of 4 components Mike works with to drive a brand forward.

  1. Establish The Vision: What does it look like 2-4 years from now (success)?
  2. Clarity: How will we interact with each other?
  3. Systems: avoid reinventing the wheel every day
  4. Getting clear about gaining feedback of whether we’re on track or not

Defining the Vision

Sit down and pick a dot in the future. What are we doing and how are we spending our time? These are not necessarily goals. Rather pretend like it’s that time you chose. What does it all look like? Imagine it as if it is happening right in front of you. This is actually what Millennials (those people who most likely comprise your team) want most of all. They want a clear idea of what success looks like in the future.

Everything Stems from Vision

It needs to be clear and specific. Sometimes, people really don’t know. Maybe they haven’t spoken about it before. It’s about stopping to think about what you’re doing. It’s about filling in the gaps. It’s being intentional

What are some of the gaps people miss? Here are some questions to ask:

  • How have we been profitable?
  • How do we keep track of what we are doing?
  • How do we measure success financially?

Breaking the Barrier of an Unclear Vision

When people are unclear about the vision, Mike asks them: What do you KNOW is NOT a part of your vision? That question helps to unfold the vision. He also asks: what would make you proud? What mark are you trying to create in the world?

In this episode we’ll cover:

  • The definition of CULTURE
  • What does establishing Vision entail.
  • Why everything comes from Vision
  • The power in listening!
  • Ways to get clear on the Vision

Practical and Actionable:

Culture is about giving people a reason to work and connect with each other!

Sit down and write a vision. Ask yourself what you don’t want. Then establish what you DO want. Pick a time in the future. Imagine and then ask yourself what the culture and success of the business looks like at that time. Include enough detail so that people are clear enough to know what they are working with

Target Audience: Arthur’s mission as a brand builder is to help small business owners scale their digital marketing efforts.

Arthur runs several businesses and is a self proclaimed serial entrepreneur. He created a successful blogging site called the Monday Monday Network. Why is it so successful? Well, in the first 45 days, it was visited by 10 million visitors. And get this- it was all 100% social, organic traffic!

Arthur attributes much of his drive and success to his parents, who came to the United States with virtually nothing. He witnesses so many people who give up when things get hard. When things get tough for him (which they do – as they do for all of us!) the values his parents bestowed upon him are what keeps him going. It is the attitude he adopted.

UNSTOPPABLE – A Relentless Attitude

From Good to Great to Unstoppable. Arthur discovered that successful business building is about bridging it with building community. Creating that 2- way communication street is everything. He quickly learned how to build massive communities around any subject. It then becomes easier to integrate your business and sell your business to a culture. Facebook has been revolutionary in that it provides that 2-way street.

Building The Communal Bridge

Arthur became an affiliate on Amazon. He started selling things by building a list and gave away little infographics on survival mentality, etc. It just unfolded and evolved from there. He currently has over 200 verticals.

To Arthur, bridging the gap is about tapping into something he is passionate about and bridging that with something he knows other people are interested in. These are things that people love to buy anyway and figured they might as well be buying it from him.

Famous Quotes from Entrepreneurs

Arthur found that quoting other entrepreneurs in his content marketing strategy was effective.  He went on to create viral photos, memes and videos. He then shared that with the community and created questions around it, aroused debates, etc with entrepreneurs and watch-preneurs. This became a breeding ground for people to come to him. For every quote, meme or video, he also created his own personal thing behind it. This allows people to get to know him.

The Monday Monday Movement

What is it? Monday Monday exudes the concept of creating something bigger than your brand. He started to explore building an entertainment site across various verticals in order to build a community around the topic. It is also meant to be organic via the use of social media.

Putting It All Together

It takes 3 different areas working incongruently: the area of buying fans, social media posting, (the content piece) and engaging the audience. Arthur likes to say, “we are building a CULT-ure”

There is always a bridge from your business to building a community that would resonate with your audience.

In this episode we’ll cover:

  • Bridging business success with a resonating community
  • Why creating community also means creating a 2-way communication street
  • The importance of meaningful content
  • Why skills can be learned and why you shouldn’t worry about it
  • Training your daily habits

Practical and Actionable:

Consistency is really important. Arthur doesn’t attribute a lot of his success to his skill set. Skills can be learned. What CAN’T be learned (what needs to be trained) are habits. He found a person who could mentor him in doing this effectively, so that he wouldn’t have to figure it out on his own.

Mentorship is super important. Identify someone who is doing something very similar to you. Be willing to invest and go to great lengths to stay accountable to the process.

Join mastermind people who are like minded. You open yourself up to a network of people who are doing similar things as you.

Target Audience: Stefanie serves startups to serial entrepreneurs by helping them crate a marketing strategy with an intentional focus on personal branding and content creation. These are the areas that accelerated her own success.

Do you understand the power of having a professional brand? It’s about claiming awareness about where your strengths are and how you serve the world.

Mastermind Your Launch

This was a passion project Stefanie delved into when she knew she wanted to start her own business. So, she formed a mastermind of ambitious women who held her accountable through her process.

What Personal Branding Means to Stefanie

What’s most often asked when it comes to personal branding is, “How do you want to show up and be perceived?” But for Stefanie it is more about bringing one’s personality to the forefront.

Email Marketing

Stefanie advises her clients to make sure to place an image – a photo- in emails that reveal a personal story and who they are. You want to inspire your audience to share it with others.

Stefanie finds that people hesitate to even share their enthusiasm because they are concerned about a certain structure they THINK they SHOULD follow. But for startups, your enthusiasm is part of how you connect with people. It is about how you wave that flag and get people to follow you.

When it comes to sharing the bad- share from your scar not from your wound. The Wound- shows you are still going through it. Bigger impact is created with your scar because it shows you have made it through to the other side. You take them through the journey of seeing what’s possible.

How Stefanie Got Here

She did a business program in college and afterwards landed a job with a startup company. It was an opportunity to see the inner workings of a company. Sales and marketing was the focus. But she also was able to explore other areas. What she took away was how the entrepreneur thought strategically. It gave her the confidence to launch a business.

When her son was born, it totally launched her to create a business she loved and what helped to birth “Mastermind Your Launch.” Internally, she felt a responsibility to set an example for her son. She wanted him to grow up watching her doing what she really loved.

Owning Your Truth

When you shine your light and people are watching, you don’t know who you will inspire.

Content Marketing

Content Marketing accelerates everything that you do.

  1. When it comes to advertising, (let’s say with a business card for example) people have their walls up. However, when we are offered a piece of content, we read, share and like it. The brain is more open because they don’t feel like they’re being sold something.
  2. Allows you to leverage your time and reach many people all at once. By sharing value, you nurture and grow relationships.

Playing on Your Strengths

Showing your authenticity and personality means sharing the good and sharing the bad.

Speaking to get clients

Making the invitation requires confidence. The intention must come from a place of offering them the opportunity to get to know them better.

The Trap of Success

Stefanie was enjoying a ‘nice’ lifestyle before she launched her business. She didn’t have a reason to launch a business and to risk any stability. Yet she wasn’t loving what she was doing. She was comfortable. Her son being born flipped her perspective. This has brought so much more meaning in her life.

In this episode we’ll cover:

  • Owning who you are to launch a business
  • What inspired Stefanie to take the plunge
  • What the Trap of Success means to Stefanie
  • How to play on your strengths
  • Why content marketing accelerates a business

Practical and Actionable:

THINK BIG when creating your personal brand. We may feel intimidated by people who are actually doing this. We may feel we are NOT on their level and go the ‘cookie cutter’ route. GO ALL IN. Share a big message- something that is not out there. And that only lies within you. Only YOU carry that message. People want to work with others whom they know, like and trust.
