Let me let you in on a secret. Are you ready? There is no “one thing” that will turn your business around. A business is a collection of systems, processes and of course, people. You can’t just fix one thing or buy one tool and it all turns around.
But don’t take my word for it…Susan Baroncini-Moe, author of “Business in Blue Jeans” shares her perspective on growing a business. Listen to this episode for new insights.
Susan’s Target Audience: Susan’s target market is entrepreneurs who are looking to create a brand, find a target market, and develop an online digital marketing strategy to generate effective leads for their business.
Susan was one of the early adopters of the Internet, and adopt she did! She paid her way through graduate school by teaching others web design and development. Today she continues to work in that field by operating a digital marketing firm called Business in Blue Jeans. Her company offers services like business coaching and building digital marketing strategies.
Susan combines her technological know-how with her coaching skills to help clients get clarity around their target market and putting the pieces of their business together. She combined coaching and technological services when she recognized her clients often required both.

On today’s edition of Leaders in the Trenches, Susan talks about the first years of her business and how she did everything on her own. Quickly, she realized she needed a team to grow and offer more services. This was a smart move for her business! While her team provides services like SEO and graphic design, Susan can do other things she loves to do.
And what she loves doing is writing and coaching. She feels empowered when her clients tell her she impacted their lives and helped them become more confident. She loves to celebrate such successful impacts with her clients. She also tells us why it is important to have a coach and shares her experiences with her fair share of coaches and mentors.

With her experience in coaching, she wants us to pick a coach that is more successful than we currently are. Our coach should be someone we want to be a few years from now.
She cautions to be wary of coaches out there who make pie-in-the-sky promises like finding the one thing to improve your business. It is not just one thing that will improve your business, according to Susan.
One should take a holistic approach in their business and understand different priorities. Get to the toughest priorities first and move on to others. This is one of her many great tips she shares with us today.

Practical & Actionable:
Susan says the most practical and actionable thing you can do right now is to know you are not alone and there are great coaches to help you out when you are in the trenches. Select a coach who is at least a few steps ahead of you.
There are also great resources online, but you must know how to pick the right ones. So choose your mentors, coaches and resources carefully while knowing there is hope.
